Craig FitzSimmons has been active as a player and coach at the top levels for over 40 years. He has played and coached professionally in Australia, Mexico, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Craig has lived in Bali for the last seven years, and he has a good grasp of the Indonesian language and culture. His love of the game is exemplified by his continuing to play in the best leagues in Bali.
His current teams are Merpati, Hoop It Up!, Pelangi, and BBT.

• Two time All MIAC Conference First Team (1978-79)
• NAIA All District 13 (1979)

Craig started his career with the Maryborough Bouncers in Queensland in 1980.
He has played over 700 games as a professional player, including 146 in the Australian National Basketball League (Perth Wildcats, Geelong Supercats, and Forestville Eagles).
He also played in the Singaporean National League with Mizuno, and the Mexican Del Pacifico League with Los Mochis.

He also played a number of years in the Australian SEABL(Shepparton, Gippsland), the Western Australian SBL (East Perth, Wanneroo), and the VBL in Victoria (Warrnambool, Horsham, Shepparton, Altona, Southern Peninsula, and Craigieburn). A season was also spent with the Lang Park Lions in Brisbane in the AAABL.

Ball In Bali has selected Stella’s Child as its community service organization for the tournament. Stella’s Child help underprivileged youth residing in children’s homes and orphanages open doors to experiences & opportunities in business, to develop skills, stimulate creativity, and to provide a launch pad to success to which youth may otherwise not have access. Their entrepreneurship program partners youth and mentors to develop and launch social enterprise businesses in an after school program.

The program was developed as a playground for the youth to practice their entrepreneurial skills in the real world. Their Love Our Earth brand is now creating employment opportunities for graduates as they train to manage the business and will be the providers for a unique welcome gift for all participants.

1When is the tournament?

Teams will arrive no later than Wednesday 10 June 2020 and play games Thursday through Sunday, 11-14 June, with the Awards Dinner on the final evening of the tournament.

1Who is playing?

There will be three divisions; men’s 40+ and 50+ and women’s 30+. Invitations are being sent out to organizations in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, China, and Indonesia.

1How many games will we play?

Each team is guaranteed 4 games. Teams making the finals will play a 5th game.

1Can I sign up as an individual player?

At this time, we are only accepting registrations for full teams. However, we are happy to know if you are interested, so please get in touch. If we have enough interest, we may add options for players looking in the future.

1Is accommodation Included in the fee?

Yes, we will make all arrangements for your Bali accommodation, tours and transport. Room allotment will be provided after your registration.

1What happens in the case of injury?

All players are encouraged to check their medical and travel insurance, to ensure they are covered while traveling and playing sports in Bali. We will have medical staff on hand, trained in emergency, CPR and sports injuries for the duration of the tournament.

1Will our team stay in the same hotel?

We will do our best to ensure all players, coaches and their families stay in the same hotel. This ensure the best possible safety and organizational ability.

1Can players families attend?

Yes, absolutely! This is a great opportunity for families to be involved in a favorite sport whilst being able to experience the wonder of Bali.
Bali Holidays and More will accommodate families together with the teams, and visiting friends and families can also look at Bali Tours and More for great activities to do while they are here.

1What is the cost of the tournament?

The cost is $695 USD per person travelling to play in the tournament
